Hi, this is Yiwen Zhao | 赵艺雯
Welcome to My Portfolio
I'm an incoming PhD student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, co-advised by Prof. Zhongyu Li and Prof. Xue Bin (Jason) Peng. Prior to that, I was a master's student at CMU RI, where I worked with Prof. Shinji Watanabe, Prof. László A. Jeni, and collaborate with Prof. Zhongyu Li.
My research interests lie in human-centric topics, including multimodal generative models, digital humans, and humanoid robots. I hope it can benefit people in a way that is useful and fun.
Some beliefs:
- Multimodal signals have a natural alignment and complementarity with each other. They make our lives as human beings vibrant and fascinating.
- Grounding these ideas in the same physical world as us humans matters. It means to deeply interact with people, and to continuously learn from the environment.
Misc: I love figure skating, a beautiful fusion of highly dynamic, precise motion and rich multimodal signals. I also love Winnie the Pooh, the kindest little bear in the world, who has been my best buddy since I was two.
I received my B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in International Economics and Trade from Beijing Normal University. I served as the chief of the student union in my Sophomore year and the chief of the figure skating club in my Junior year.
During my undergraduate research, I've had the great honor of working with Prof. Teng Han, Prof. Yongzhen Huang, Prof. Shanghang Zhang and many student mentors. Deepest thanks to their invaluable guidance.
I interned at Tencent America (Hunyuan Team) in Spring 2026.
